This building was built in the 1890s by the three Brennan brothers, John, James, and William, who were in the fish business. The money was raised by Walter D.Hall with aid from J. J. Polson, Josiah Hupper, Franklyn Turssell, and CharlesBickmore. At one time they owned and chartered 24 or more vessels, ranging from the 7 ton Uncus to the 74 ton Juanita. This business came to an end for thelack of adequate means to transport frozen products.
