The late Kennedy Crane (Rockland’s Senter-Crane department store) owned this handsome Friendship Sloop and kept her summers off his cottage at Dynamite Beach in Owls Head. Astern of her is one of the two kelp-gathering boats that served the Algin Corporation, now FMC. Although this site is in Rockland’s South End, it was once known as North Cove according to Bert Snow’s book The Main Beam, South Cove being off the present Snow Marine Park. This landscape disappeared upon arrival of Fisher Engineering and MBNA.
