SUMMARY:Member Mondays on Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, November 9\nNoon and lasts around 20 minutes\nFREE\, Members Only \nJoin Penobscot Marine Museum Curatorial Staff for live lunchtime Zoom presentations. Rotating between Curator Cipperly Good\, Photo Archivist Kevin Johnson\, and Digital Collections Curator Matt Wheeler\, each week a different staff member will focus on one of their favorite artifacts or collections. Enjoy close up views and interesting stories\, plus an opportunity to ask your own questions and chat with PMM staff! \nOn this Monday\, Photo Archivist Kevin Johnson presents Gems of the PMM Photo Archives. What distinguishes an image? Is it the drama of the moment\, the artistic qualities of its composition\, the expression on a face\, the time in history it represents\, or the way light played with the subject? Knowing the story behind an image can deepen one’s appreciation of it. In 2015 we created the 20 Best exhibit to share what our staff felt were the best photos from our collections. A lot of new photos have been added since then. Photo archivist Kevin Johnson will share some of these “new” and existing treasures and examine the reasons they stand out.  \nNot a member? Join today to take advantage of unique opportunities like this one and to support the ongoing educational and preservation efforts of the Museum. \nThis programming has been made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities: Exploring the human endeavor.
