SUMMARY:Member Monday: Rehousing and Cataloguing—Bringing Order to the Chaos
DESCRIPTION:While we were excited to receive the Wilbur Yacht Collection of boat plans\, company archives\, and design tools\, and with it\, some gems like the plans to Billy Joel’s 38′ fast cruiser\, it was overwhelming. Luckily\, we have a rolodex full of former high school and college interns to call upon. Belfast-native Willa Bywater\, now a student at Bryn Mawr College with an interest in Museums and Archives\, came to our rescue! Over the past summer\, Willa rehoused the 159 sheafs of boat plans and created a bare bone\, but searchable catalog of those boat plans. Come learn more about the project and see a few gems in this Member Monday! \nMember Mondays are a fun perk of membership—casual lunchtime Zoom programs where you can connect with museum staff and learn more about what we do. Programs run from January through April and feature one presentation from each department: Administration\, Curatorial\, Photo Archives\, and Education. Not a member yet? Join here. \nFree\, Members Only
