Drew Pearson

Drew Pearson (1897-1963) was an influential and controversial journalist during the first half of the 20th century. He wrote a syndicated column, “Washington Merry-Go-Round” which ran for over three decades.  He also broadcast a show titled “Drew Pearson Comments” on NBC radio.

“Throughout his career, Pearson freely mixed news and opinion, reporting and advocacy, truth and falsehood.” (Tofel, Richard. “Drew Pearson, the Muckraking Journalist With the Bully Pulpit.” New York Times, June 1, 2021)  He worked fiercely to expose the secrets of the White House and Congress, several times resulting in the end of a politician’s career.
