Dr. Puharich

Around the time he renegotiated his contract with Black Star in the mid-1950s, Ruohomaa gained access to an unusual research laboratory in Glen Cove, Rockland, near his Dodge Mountain home. The founder of the lab, Dr. Henry “Andrija” Puharich, was a native of Chicago whose visits to Maine, conversations with wealthy aficionados of the occult he met here, and his own curiosity about ESP and clairvoyance led him to headquarter his operations there as the Round Table Laboratory of Experimental Electrobiology.

While visiting, Ruohomaa photographed the doctor, his colleagues, and the construction of a Faraday cage-an enclosure insulated from external electromagnetic radiation, in this case to prevent interference with an occupant’s supposed extrasensory perception.
