Join Penobscot Marine Museum Curatorial Staff for live lunchtime Zoom presentations. Rotating between Curator Cipperly Good, Photo Archivist Kevin Johnson, and Digital Collections Curator Matt Wheeler, each week a different staff member will focus on one of their favorite artifacts or collections. Enjoy close up views and interesting stories, plus an opportunity to ask your own questions and chat with PMM staff!
On this Monday, Digital Collections Curator Matt Wheeler will discuss the Jeff Dworsky collection. Dworsky’s identification with the traditional hard-working culture of the Maine fishing village grew as he became a part of it. As he watched the parallel growth of gentrification in the area, he decided to pay his respects to what seemed a passing age, using photography as the medium. We will take a close look at Jeff Dworsky’s Stonington images, enhanced by audio from a 2020 interview.
