Quality
All prints are made from high-resolution digital scans which are adjusted for contrast and tone. We remove major blemishes and distracting dust and scratches. They are printed individually on heavyweight acid-free paper with archival pigment inks and packaged with a backing board in a protective sleeve. If you prefer your print or digital file to be “as is”, please let us know in advance. We will advise you if the image selected would not hold up well to enlargement.

Matte
- has a slightly coarse texture similar to a watercolor paper
- has a slightly warm tone
- most suitable for paintings and older photographs
Semi-Gloss
- has a smooth texture similar to modern photographic papers
- has a bright tone
- most suitable for more contemporary photographs (c. 1930 and later)

Print Pricing
We typically do not print to standard sizes.
- To preserve the native width/height ratio of historic photos, print sizes will vary.
- The chart below lists approximate print sizes for comparison to industry standards.
- We recommend custom framing, or purchasing a standard frame one size larger that the print and having a mat custom cut for the print.
- Printing at standard sizes (to fit standard frames) is available for a $50/hour surcharge per order, depending on the time needed to meet the specifications.

Digital Image Files
If you prefer to print yourself, we can send you an image file with dimensions matching the desired print size. Pricing is identical to corresponding print size (e.g., a digital file for an 8×10 print costs $30). If we release an image file, it’s important that customers do not distribute or make multiple prints from the files; these materials are an important revenue source for our not-for-profit museum. File dimensions below are approximate.
