Interested in local history or storytelling? Consider joining the cast of Penobscot Marine Museums Ripped from the Headlines: Tales of Bravery, Shipwrecks, and Courage at Sea 2023! You can help bring the past to life and be a part of history! Celebrating Searsport’s rich maritime tradition, Ripped from the Headlines volunteers read or reenact the tales of infamous Searsport captains and shipwrecks outside on our beautiful campus. Taken directly from the newspaper headlines, these stories are full of heroism, courage, dashing rescues, and danger on the high seas! Memorize a script or improvise your own persona! All ages welcome, children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
