How would you talk to someone far away if you didn’t have a telephone? This Jr. Adventurers programming is all about signal flags. When Maine ships and sailors saw other sailing vessels on the ocean in the 1800s, they relied on signal flags to communicate.

Get a little more out of your visit to Penobscot Marine Museum when you stop by during Jr. Adventurers! These weekly drop-in programs are designed for children and their families to have fun at the museum. Each will explore a different topic that relates to our exhibits. Families can read together, do a craft, play a game, and go on a scavenger hunt.
