This two-day workshop will explore how to use local resources—documents, artifacts, landscapes, and the rich expertise in every town—to examine historical issues with a national focus. In Searsport, Maine. The workshop is open to teachers, librarians, archivists, members of local historical societies, and all interested local history enthusiasts.

Children’s Program: The Herring Are In!
A hands-on program about weir fishing with Mayra Donnell. Discover the excitement of being woken up at 3:00 am when the moon and the tides are right for the herring to be in.  You have waited a long time to fill the dories and take the fish to the cannery. Fill that dory, and compete to be fastest canner on the line.  Your pay depends on how many cans you fill in a day. PMM’s Peapod. Free with PMM admission.
