Hear fascinating in-depth historical commentary on the Maine photographs from Penobscot Marine Museum’s Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Company Collection. Maine State Historian Earle Shettleworth, Jr., Maine historian and author William H. Bunting, and Penobscot Marine Museum Photo Archivist Kevin Johnson collaborated on this book about the unique Belfast-based postcard company of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Maine On Glass is published by Tilbury House.

Hear the hair-raising stories and meet the spirits of sea captains lost at sea, the widows waiting for the husbands to return, and young boys who left as crew never to return. Walk through the Sea Captain’s House one last time before the night watchmen close it up for the winter.

The Northeast by Eastern Screening

The score of the film will be performed live by Sumner and band-mate Josh Robbins. Proceeds from the film will benefit the Penobscot Marine Museum photo archives allowing more of these important historical photographs to become available to the world via the museum's online database. The event was underwritten through a generous sponsorship by Mathews Brothers and Coastal Healthcare Alliance. Beer will be provided by Marshall Wharf Brewing. Tickets are $20 with a limited number of VIP tickets for $50.
