Author and personal historian Meghan Vigeant shares stories and plays audio recordings about Maine’s hardscrabble rural life gathered from the elders, larger-than-life characters, and tricksters she has worked with over the years. Stories range from building a cabin in the back woods for only $97 to how to mend a broken leg on a remote island. Touching, funny, and well told – this presentation is sure to entertain as well as inform anyone who wants to save someone's story.

Betsy Paradis is the Reference and Special Collections Librarian at the Belfast Free Library and has taught genealogy courses and presented on the topic at libraries around the state and at genealogy conferences.

Merchant Marine Interview Day
PMM is partnering with the Seamen’s Church Institute to host a day of oral history interviews with merchant mariners. Mariners are invited to record their stories with SCI researchers as part of the American Merchant Marine Veterans Oral History Project.
